Are you looking to improve the texture and hydration of your skin and improve skin laxity on your face, neck, hands or decolletage? Our Profhilo skin treatment is a revolutionary injectable bio-remodelling treatment that hydrates the skin from within, improves skin texture and boosts glow and improves skin laxity. Profhilo vs regular dermal fillers?

Profhilo is not a dermal filler. Where usual dermal filler products work to fill lines, add structure and volume, Profhilo works as a skin-conditioning treatment. It is a new category of hyaluronic acid treatment known as Bio-remodelling.
It has been described as an ‘injectable moisturiser’ – but it is much more than that. Profhilo’s ability to stimulate collagen and elastin and improve skin texture makes it significantly different from other ‘injectable moisturiser’ treatments.
Profhilo has opened up a new injectable category – bio-remodeling.
To summarise the complex science, it contains two types of HA. Together they combine to provide both a ‘Hydro’ effect and a volumetric ‘Lift’ effect.

What is in Profhilo?

It contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market (64 mg / 2 ml). Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in our skin. It is a hydrophilic substance, which absorbs water and hydrates our cells. Our body’s production of HA decreases from the age of 27 resulting in our skin becoming thinner, drier and more fragile.

    How does Profhilo work?

It is injected into the deeper layers of the dermis and spreads to cover a wider area. As a stabilised product, Profhilo lasts in the skin for around 28 days (the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel). During this time, the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by the slow release of HA.
How many treatments of Profhilo do I need before I see results?
Profhilo takes a few weeks before you start to notice any visible improvement, mainly because the body has to produce the skin-boosting ingredients itself.
Profhilo usually involves two treatments spaced one month apart. Some people may require three treatments.
The results from Profhilo treatments will most often last for up to nine months, but results can differ from person to person.
Typically, patients find the best results by repeating Profhilo treatments from six to 12 months to maintain.

      Does Profhilo treatment hurt?

Profhilo injections are well tolerated without numbing cream.
There are five specific BAP (bio aesthetic point) injection sites on each side of the face or neck where the clinician injects Profhilo into facial skin. From here, Profhilo gradually spreads out across the facial tissue.

      Are there any side effects?

Profhilo® has been widely used in Europe for the past five years. Over a million syringes have been administered and crucially, it has a very well established safety profile.
As with any injectable treatment, there is a risk of swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising for 24-48 hours after treatment.
Initial lumps may take 24-48 hours to settle completely. There is a very rare risk of potential infection or prolonged lumps. Lumps are more visible when treating the neck; they are less noticeable on the face.
Rarely allergy can occur to Hyaluranon or the local anaesthetic cream. It can be treated with antihistamines. There is a small risk of infection which can be treated with antibiotics.
